Good. [A2 breathes out a soft huffing sound, and she tilts her head towards him after a few moments, hand still on his head, but no longer musing his hair.

Of course he's got icing on his nose, and she stares, contemplating him silently for a few moments.]

_{[The weight of her hand atop his head is welcome as the two of them sit in silence. It's a reassuring feeling, knowing A2 has his back in a way, and while they don't always get along, it'd be wrong to say that they hadn't grown closer to one another since she'd found him that day.]}

You've got icing on your nose, idiot. [She doesn't know why she feels the need to. Really she should be kicking herself for potentially getting in the way of 9S and 2B, and maybe she is, just a little, when she closes the small gap between him to kiss the icing off his nose.

_{[He wasn't expecting a kiss to his nose, cheeks flaring a shade of deep pink to rival the icing that was stuck there. He's not sure why she's just done what she did, but he's not complaining. If A2 had wanted to distract him, she'd just gotten his full attention. Without thinking he reaches down to take a bit of icing from another cupcake onto the tip of his finger, only to smear it on his nose again.]}

I-I think you missed some...

[A2 stares at him as he wipes more icing on his nose, and raises and eyebrow as she pulls back and barks a laugh that's probably kinder sounding than anything she's managed thus far.]

[There's distance between them, but it's not really a lot at this point.]

[He's still trying to play it like he didn't put it there himself just now. A2 shakes her head at him, but she gives into his stupid game anyway, because she knows that he is absolutely aware of just how stupid he's being.

It's fine. It's not like they really have anything better to do, and A2 leans forward again this time licking the icing right up off his nose.]

[This is so, so stupid. She's entirely aware of it, and the fact that they're only millimeters apart.]

<sub>[It is better. In fact, there's something about this that makes him feel a lot better, just in general. Maybe it's the distraction she's providing him or the implied fact she does care. Out of everyone here, even 2B, A2 was on the same page as him. They both had shared secrets they had to keep, knowledge that was troubling and would be awful to bear alone. He never would have thought the two of them would end up doing something as ridiculous as this or growing even remotely close...but he's not complaining.

Reaching back down with his hand he gets a little more icing, only to smear it at the corner of her mouth, which he promptly leans in to kiss away himself. Either she'll laugh again or punch him.

[This time, he's rewarded with a snort, because this is stupid. It's all so stupid and inane and utterly pointless, but it's fun in a weird way, and A2 presses her forehead against his.]

[There's no sort of malice or anger in her words, only pure amusement at this entire thing.]

_{[Sure, their bangs get in the way a bit but her forehead is warm against his and he realizes he likes the feel of it. She's close and that's a good thing. There have been so many shitty things happening lately, especially today, that something like this he's more than willing to indulge in, if not cling desperately.]}

[A2 has to adjust herself to do it properly, twisting on the couch that she can press herself against him firmly, close the little distance between them in a way she's familiar with since coming here. It's not the same for androids, at least not 9S and herself, anyway.

They still have a quota to meet, though. Even if they don't have the parts for it to be done traditionally..]

<sub>[She's heavier than him, sure, but it's a welcome weight of sorts that presses down against him, making the cushions beneath the two of them sag. It's comforting, in a weird way, to know that A2 is just as unchanged as he is. 2B was somewhat lighter, had modified herself in ways to please their creators...it still bothers him, to a degree. Not that he'd dare to voice it to her face. There'd be no point to - he already knows what she'd say in return.

Instinctively he reaches up to wrap his hands around her back, keeping her atop him. If he were human and needed to breathe, being laid on might pose a problem. Thankfully he isn't.]</sub>

[They're not human, but 9S is far more pliant than A2 is. It's especially apparent in their closeness.

Though... A2 narrows her eyes at him.]

[A2 pulls back just enough to flick him in the head.]

[Her hand that flicked him quickly runs through his hair affectionately.]
