_{[And, like clockwork, 9S is there at the door to her apartment, a small plastic bag in hand. A gloved hand knocks on the barrier three times before he lets it drop to his side. Already he can hear her heavy footsteps coming closer to open the door and, soon enough, he's face to face with A2.]}

[Of course he's like clockwork, and of course A2 doesn't get any visitors. She's too moody to make friends, and too distrustful to really try.

So of course it's 9S, and she eyes him up and down with a quirked eyebrow.]

What's the occasion?

[She's still moving out of the way to let him in.

Her place is... as sparse as when she got back. Nothing like what they'd had before.]

_{[Immediately he's reminded as to when the two of them first arrived over a year ago to the apartment and nothing had been done. Of course he'd done most of the decorating during that time, with A2's added input that he'd pull from her when he could get it. This is just...lonely though. Which makes him even more sure that what he's going to propose is the right thing to do.]}

_{[That's...not the reason why he's here, but it's technically an occasion, right? In he goes, making a beeline for the kitchen to fish out a plate to put said stew beef on.]}

[Is her first response, because for as much as she likes 9S, it's pretty easy to tell that this whole situation with them not being contracted bothers her.]

_{[9S blurts it out, ignoring the open mouth chewing as A2 digs into the meaty treat he brought for her to eat.]}

My contract with Ann is expiring in a few days...I talked it over with her and we both decided it would be best if I contract with you again. Y'know...if you're up for it.

[A2 swallows hard as he blurts that out, and it's a real good thing she can't actually choke, because otherwise she might have. Instead, it's just a wholly uncomfortable feeling as the raw meat slips down her synthetic throat.]

You'd contract with me. Again. Even though you apparently have it made with this "Ann".

Living with Ann is nice and she's been good to me but...I've missed you. I've missed you since you left.

I think even you're smart enough to know that I wouldn't be contracting anyone else in this hellhole.

_{[That gets a small laugh out of him as he moves to sit down beside her on the couch. There's a slightly respectable distance between them. Her stance is far more splayed than his own, his hands neatly rested atop his knees.]}

I guess. [It sucks, that she's so conflicted about this. That 9S deserves better still, but the overwhelming urge to protect him is there, the promise to protect him is still there.
